We asked for a refund and were given 50% back which was also unacceptable. Read Less

We did the tour to the mountain village of Guadalest, which was little more than a glorified tourist trap. Yes, it has history as a mountain fortress but there were so many people, we were not able to have any kind of guided tour so we didn't know what we were looking at most of the time. Too hard to navigate the hoardes of people around all the cheesy souvenir shops. Read Less

On our own, was wasted day. Took hop on-hop-off bus, that was infrequent and slow, at castle overlooking town there was a mob to get on bus and no room. We skipped the castle and got off bus in town. Map guide handed out on ship was confusing and dated - restaurants had either closed or changed their offering to pizza and burgers, and streets were misnamed on map. Other than the attractive pedestrian walk and overpriced craft stalls, it was just another port city. Read Less

Away from the main touristy boulevard and harbour, the town is a little shabby and not on a par with Malaga.

Another short stay by ncl - shameful. Nice castle overlooking the city. Rest of the city ok but average compared to Cadiz and Malaga. Nice looking beach if it had been warmer.

Also very interesting, although the bus service to the castle (in place of the non-functioning elevator) was very badly planned. The beach is pretty and we found lots to see and do.

Still nice, but not as nice as Malaga and Cartagena. A nice promenade along the waterfront.

Didn’t expect much here, but for once the little map in the Today programme was useful, and we jut walked to the beach from the shuttle stop and on to a charming downtown with a cultural procession going on in the streets. From the boat, this place looks like an industrial port, but it really is worth seeing. Read Less

The port provides a free shuttle. Explanada de España is a beautiful walkway. We were there in the morning and able to enjoy it with only a few people around. Mercado Central was a bustling neighborhood market filled with locals. We enjoyed eating lunch at one of the stalls while people watching. Castell de Santa Bàrbara was a long hike, and we only had time to make it about halfway there. Being just that far up was a nice break from the city. Read Less

About 1/2 to 1km between the shuttle bus drop off and good shopping. It's a flat walk, but walking nonetheless.
