The port was simply a waiting room with a few chairs and a vending machine and toilets adjacent. No staff on hand for any questions or to direct us where to go when the ship arrives.

Not much to see here, have a walk round the shops and the Art Deco district. The lack of anything great is me means this port could be lost in favour of a daytime cruise down from Geiranger but then I guess Celebrity couldn't sell ... Read More

The most disappointing stop on the cruise, especially as it was a public holiday and most things were closed. We decided on the Hop On - Hop Off bus trip but this was a waste of money as there is a long interval between buses (45 mins). ... Read More
The most disappointing stop on the cruise, especially as it was a public holiday and most things were closed. We decided on the Hop On - Hop Off bus trip but this was a waste of money as there is a long interval between buses (45 mins). It was very windy at the top of the main viewpoint and as the cafe was closed and we could not face a 45 minute wait we braved the 418 steps down to the town. We do not think Alesund is a very interesting place, even if it had been open so wondered why this ws on the itinerary at all. Read Less

A port with basically one thing to do...go to look-out point on top of a mountain by bus. Town itself has nothing.
