Great cruise.
Port visits were fantastic.
Recommend preselecting the rotational dining in the restaurants, saves the hassle of booking the restaurants once onboard.
Restaurant food ok, Angelo’s being the highlight. Dragon Lady was not that good.
Definitely recommend Blanc de Blanc show - worth the extra cost.
Shore tours cheaper when booked direct rather than via ship.

We have cruised on PO Explorer a couple of times, this is our 8th Cruise in total. PO Adventure is the worst of the lot! The menu is repetitive in the main buffet area, the desserts were a 2/10 very hit and miss. The Dragon lady restaurant that use to be our favourite ia completely different, main stream Chinese food and not unique or interesting at all. Angelo's leaves a lot to be desired. The ...
Never again, poor quality food, bad service, rubbish comedy, no BIG name comedians which I should have guessed when booking as they did not say who would be headlining. Never have I had such a small balcony cabin and have cruised several other cruise lines. DO NOT purchase internet, you will be lucky to have it a full day at a time.
Very boring cruise and could not wait to get off.
I have ...
The ship (Pacific Explorer) itself was old and dated but overall in fair condition.
We booked an the cheap internal room - our plan was to only use it to sleep in and be using the "extensive" facilities at other times.
The staff were very friendly
As with all cruise lines they offered a combination of included restaurants and specialty ones. This ship however did not have a communial ...
We chose this cruise because it departed from Melbourne where we have relatives
Pacific Explorer is rusty and shabby on the outside but bright and cheerful inside.
Our porthole cabin was small but adequate and kept very clean by our friendly stewards.
Guests need to be aware that anything extra in the way of food, drink etc. is charged at a top rate.
The food quality was variable in ...
this cruise was meant to be a CHEAP excursion into the type of holiday.1500 dollars for two people 3 days local sailing with all inclusive but the truth became pretty obvious very quickly. NOTHING Of value is included. your included meals are very basic with 2000 people standing in a que for half an hour like a line in a jail movie. then the pleasure of walking around for 15 mins to find a table ...
Just got back from the Island Hopper itinerary with Pacific Encounter out of Brisbane December 2023. Travelling as a family (husband, wife and 2 kids aged 2 and 4). Grandma also came along and stayed in the adjoining room, although not connected internally.
Our only other cruise was earlier this same year on Royal's Quantum of the Seas. I know comparing the 2 is like comparing apples and ...
Unfortunately P&O have dropped the ball in the food area, tarnishing one of the reasons many of us enjoy cruising.
This was our first cruise since Covid, having a couple with P&O prior and also another larger company. In the past we considered P&O food to be marginally better than the technically 'better' cruise line, but let down by the quality of entertainment. Now the entertainment is good ...
This was my 4th cruise, on 4 different cruise lines, so I feel qualified to make a review. I travelled with a friend; we are both active seniors who just wanted a week of relaxation before Christmas. We chose this cruise because it sailed out of Melbourne. We were not particular about the ports, which was just as well, as we didn't get to Kangaroo Island or Burnie due to rough weather. The ...
I wanted to visit Kangaroo Island and just wanted to do another cruise.Embarkation was a disaster as they had a computer glitch and all our photo ids had to be redone prior to boarding. The food was satisfactory overall but some of the complimentary restaurants like Dragon Lady and Angelo’s was very disappointing. Some of the fellow passengers cancelled their 2nd booking at these 2 places. The ...
