I had always wanted to go to Buenos Aires and Rio and thought a cruise between the 2 would be wonderful. The ship was beautifully appointed and loved the dining options. Unfortunately, the ports of call really were terrible. A great frustration was that we were going to stop in San Paolo but we stopped in Santos. The only transport they offered was to a shopping mall in Santos and no way to ...
We had not been to South America prior to this sailing. Cruise was lovely and relaxing. We went in three days earlier to visit Buenos Aires. Beautiful city and lots of cultural things to do. Some of the smaller ports were very interesting we liked Buzios.
I would be nice if the simply more excursion money could be used for additional items like the beverage package. One of our tours was ...
Prior Princess cruiser for 25 cruises. Last cruise the food was bad. My second on Oceania . The food was excellent overall, especially the beef. Had the lobster several times and it was bad and small, even the supposed whole Maine Lobster in The Polo Grill.sometimes mushy like frozen and poorly defrosted , sometimes just bad taste. Avoid it. I will in the future. Go with The Dover Sole.
The ...
We wanted to experience a small ship cruise line and chose Oceania. We are an experienced Cruiser primarily on Celebrity. We wanted to see if the 25% differential between Celeb Acqua Class and Oceania was worth it. It's NOT. Average age on this cruise was Near Death. It should be sponsored by a Funeral Home or Long-Term Care provider. The food as advertised was very good. The Specialty ...
First off, this was mine and my husbands first Oceania Cruise! We have always stayed in suites on Royal Caribbean Oasis Class Ships and preferred the larger ships. Some friends of ours recommended Oceania for the food and luxury side of the cruise. My husband loves to cook and they told us about their Culinary Classes. They did tell us that we would be younger than most people on the ship. I’m 43 ...
We were planning a long cruise of 9 weeks from Auckland to LA of about 9 weeks. When they sold it to us we thought that this was one cruise but we found out that this cruise was split up in 3 parts. With twice the same ports as you did at the end of the cruise that just ended. That was not told at all when they sold this to us! So at the end of the first cruise part you end again in Auckland where ...
We’ve been on over three dozen Princess cruises and until recently we didn’t have any reason to stray from them. But the dream itinerary that we wanted to do was no longer offered by Princess. We booked the 10 day French Polynesia cruise a couple of times with Princess during Covid and it was cancelled. The final cancellation was because they sold the Pacific Princess and Princess no longer had ...
This was our 5th Oceania cruise. Our 4th in the Caribbean. We have previously gone on Marina and Riviera. We have been very happy about the food on Oceania and this cruise did not disappoint although we very much missed having Jacques. The brochures say that Jacques Pepin French specialties are featured in the Grand Dining Room but we did not find that to be the case.
We were Diamond level ...
My wife and I have cruised over 20 times travelling the world over in varying degrees of shipboard luxury. We've sailed on RCCL, Princess, Holland America, Crystal, Cunard, Silversea, Seabourn, and Oceania-this is our fourth cruise on Oceania. Oceania had been our favored line even within this exalted company. Having read so many equivocal and downright negative reviews, I wondered what we ...
We chose this cruise due to the itinerary, which included 3 days of sailing in Antarctica. This was our first time on Oceania, having cruised many times on Celebrity in the past. We thought that Oceania would be a bit of an upgrade from Celebrity due to the price-point and the smaller ship design. We arrived in Santiago 3 days before the cruise but planned our own time there and did not ...
