Really enjoyable transatlantic on this new ship

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Oceania Vista

This was our third Oceania cruise and the first on Vista (previous ones on Marina and Nautica). It was also our first transatlantic and we were really looking forward to all those sea days – we knew it would be a much more relaxing holiday than O’s usual port intensive cruises. We’d flown from our local airport to London, on the Sunday, staying overnight at Heathrow, then on to Miami the next ...

A big, disorganized mess

Review for a Asia Cruise on Riviera

This was not our first cruise with Oceania and after a fantastic experience in Tahiti, we couldn't wait to go back. This experience however, was quite different. Our stateroom (A4), public spaces, etc., were lovely and comfortable, and the specialty restaurants were very good. The buffet and the Grand Dining Room however, went downhill compared to the previous cruise, Where Oceania let us ...

Oceania - March 17-April 1 - Sailing around Japan, including 3 days pre cruise in Tokyo This was our first Oceania cruise. We are Elite on Celebrity and have also sailed Princess, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian. We were never asked by Oceania to rate the trip, something that has never happened on our many cruises. Our review follows: We traveled as a group of about 25 people mainly from ...

We just returned from 12 days in Japan on Riviera. We fell in love with Japan and will absolutely return someday! Background: Active couple (58 and 59), well traveled both on land and at sea, second O cruise, other cruises on X, HAL, RCCL, first trip to Asia, love good food and better wine. My comments are simply our impressions and I respect that others will have contrasting input. ...

In total, we have cruised @. 40 times to most corners of the world. This was our second time with Oceania..... and our last. We booked directly and our only contact was with the cruise consultant who took the booking. Any questions, and there were several regarding air, guest services etc were directed to him, but he could only pass the questions up the chain. We paid the fee ( higher ...

Cruise Japan but hire your own guides

Review for a Asia Cruise on Riviera

1) Food was good, not great 2) Shore excursion guides were not always proficient in English 3) Hired non-Oceania guide for Kyoto (from GetYourGuide) and had wonderful experience 4) Excursion to view Mt Fuji was a wasted day - coming into the port in the AM provided the best view and photo ops from the ship’s deck - excursion took us to the far side of the bay (much further away) or a ...

Average at best

Our cruise experience, including our pre-cruise three night stay in Tokyo, was a mixed bag at best. Starting with the "transfer" from Narita airport to our hotel: this was a disorganized, chaotic mess. Our greeters at the airport kept us waiting for hours before finally leading us on a long walk with baggage to the bus. The Hilton Tokyo was a very good hotel with an excellent buffet breakfast but ...

First and Last Oceania

Review for a Asia Cruise on Riviera

Experienced cruisers for 30 years. Mostly Viking fans, but our friends said "Try Oceania for the great food". Food was below Viking standards and marginal. Ordered three steaks from three restaurants on three separate evenings, all tough and flavorless. Grand dining room is a cluster- waited 90 minutes for breakfast to arrive, good thing we had no excursions scheduled that day. Service was ...

Don't Waste Your Money!

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Oceania Vista

User Avatar

Run, run as fast as you can! The service on this ship was pathetic at best. The staff tried as hard as they could. However, I also think the lack of a proper number of staff causes burnout and permeates an "I don't care" attitude. The destination team did not provide the services advertised for Silver Cove, and the overall cruise was not worth the money. There are better experiences for the cost ...

Just disembarked the 11 night Bermuda sailing on the Oceania Vista out of Miami. The ship is new and quite beautiful. Decor is tasteful and contemporary. We've been on over 100 cruises on almost every line so here are a few observations of the new Vista: Pro - Culinary class excellent with Chef Kelly - a must do activity Cabin design - we had a penthouse PH1 and it was the best junior ...
