Not a regular cruiser, I was lured in by a university alumni association brochure. Even though there were some negatives, This cruise ended up being the vacation of a lifetime.
What my husband and I liked:
Embarkation: Smooth, efficient, quick, and without fanfare. We especially liked that there were no sales pitches or photo promotions before getting to our room.
Dining: Authentic ...
My wife suffers from Multiple Sclerosis and has limited mobility. We would never have booked this cruise had we not been led to believe that there was a suitable disabled access stateroom meeting our requirements on board the Nautica.
This cruise was sold to us in the U.K. by Oceania on the basis that we would have an accessible stateroom with wheelchair accessible shower, disabled grab rails, ...
Expected a luxury cruise but overall disappointing. No port lectures. Buffet lacked a decent salad bar. Embarkation very challenging for older adults. Very little information on ports too late to really enjoyvisited. Local maps available only after arriving in port. Food in dining room hit or miss.Specialty restaurants disappointing and staff pretentious.Cast shows mediocre. Several excellent ...
WEAKEST on the Riveria was Destination Services! The staff seemed very DISORGANIZED in getting guests off the ship in a timely manner and the logistics of just getting to the activity destination were MUCH LONGER than expected or stated. For instance, boat tender to Harvest Caye, Belize was an hour, the bus ride to the activity was another hour and the activity was under an hour. NO LUNCH was ...
I would like to say up front that this was our first Oceania experience and after our time on the Riviera we have no intention of cruising on any other line. We are a couple in our early sixties and this was our tenth cruise. We have sailed with three other cruise lines. This has been the best cruise ever! Did we gain weight? Well...yes. Did we have an amazing experience? Oh Yeah! Would we ...
It was our first Oceania cruise and it will not be the last ! The Sirena is a small intimate elegant ship and it was a very different cruise from Miami to Lima. The ports were interesting but what made this cruise different from the 20 + other cruises was the ship. It was small but never boring and the cruise director, Dottie, was a pro. Because of the smaller amount of passangers,600, you ...
We wanted to see Cuba, the Panama Canal and Machu Picchu and this cruise had all three. It was the first time we traveled with dietary restrictions (my wife was diagnosed as Celiac).
Overall the ship did a good job of providing gluten free food options, but it could have been better. Every single meal we had to ask the chef to point out what she could eat instead of simply putting a "GF" ...
This was our third cruise with Oceania. We chose it for the warm weather and ports of call.
Food and service were excellent.
Veranda concierge state room was great.
Red Ginger restaurant was our favorite.
Shore excursions were very good
We booked a cruise from Seattle to Alaska while on the ship.
Only problem was avoiding over eating, particularly the great desserts but the ...
WE chose this cruise to transit the Panama Canal
Sirena Cruise (Oceania Cruises)
We wanted to go through the Panama Canal so we got our agent to book a cruise that would do that and that would allow us to join another cruise from Ushuaia a few days after completing the first Cruise. We arrived in Miami and joined the ship Sirena having booked a vista suite which turned out to be marvellous ...
The cruise was our longest, so far. Forty days total. We wondered if it might be too long on a small ship. When we booked, we were offered a "free" three-day pre-cruise. We enjoyed our tours of Cape Town and the surrounding area. While talking to the onboard Ambassador, we learned the Oceania took a major hit with the offer and will not be offering it again. I don't know about other ...
