My husband and I were celebrating a big anniversary, we had never been to Alaska, and we wanted to do something memorable so we decided to go visit this huge state. We began our cruising on Oceania shortly after this cruise line was founded, but we had not sailed with them since the ownership change. We more recently sailed with some luxury category cruise lines on ocean and river but this timing ...
Excellent food in all the restaurants, including the Terrace Cafe, which was buffet style. It was not your typical buffer, however, with sushi, lobster and other stations hosting delicious food. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool deck was plenty big and they put comfortable lounging and seating around the entire ship. This ship is geared towards older adults and as 50 ...
We chose this cruise to compare to Azamara Club Cruises, another 6-star line. But Azamara wins hands down for the quality of its staff, staff training, cleanliness on the ship, quality of food, etc. Riviera’s design is that it’s cafe is on Deck 14, which looks out onto the pool deck, crescent-shaped, so quite small, whereas the library next door is huge by comparison. The night’s entertainment ...
This was our 8th Cruise on Oceania. We sailed May 17, 2018 from Rome to Venice on an 8 day cruise. We've always felt in the past sailing on Oceania was worth the extra cost over some of the mainstream cruiselines. However, changes that Oceania made on this cruise different from other European cruises in the past on the Riveria makes me question which cruise line I will use in the future.
The ...
Last week I traveled on the Oceania Sirena to Cuba out of Miami. This was my fourth Oceania cruise but the first in about ten years ago. I stopped cruising on Oceania for one simple reason, Destination Services. This is the part of the company that handles the excursions for Oceania. Ten years ago Destination Services blatantly lied to me about an excursion and after explaining to them how this ...
First timers and we had a blast! The cabin was so spacious and we had no problem putting all our stuff away and suitcases fitted under the bed no problem. The ship is impeccably clean and the restaurants are too. Staff are always gloved and do all the food serving, I.e, you cannot serve yourself at the buffet. We ate in the specialist restaurants which were all fantastic, seriously the food on ...
The ship was the main reason as we have been on the Riviera before & the standards were excellent as usual. The itinerary also gave us a cruise visiting a couple of new ports that we haven’t visited, some good some bad, along with ports that are always nice just to wander around.
Our Travel Agent organized our flights & transfers in order to save a little on costs & we were able to embark as ...
For our first cruise, Oceania was a good choice. Embarkation was well organized and while there was a wait for our rooms, we were provided with a welcome lunch and later relaxed by the pool. Our room was ready by 1:30. We opted for a veranda room on the concierge level. The room size appears larger on the web site photo but the space was adequate. Access to the concierge suite was located directly ...
We chose Riviera because we were looking for an upmarket cruise and they were offering a special rate.
We didn’t want to be on board a huge ship and we wanted a beautiful cabin to enjoy while on board.
The fine dining was attractive to us as was the general ‘look’ of the ship and what it promised as far as sedate, romantic, yet fun travel.
This was our first ever cruise and we didn’t ...
We have sailed with Oceania on 4 previous occasions and always enjoyed it - good company, great food, excellent service - cabins are definitely small but we don't spend much time in our cabins.
BUT - this cruise was not up to our expectations, even though we did enjoy it... We believe the reason is the large number of RTW ers -they lacked the happiness and excitement, often shown by people on ...
