An amazing Spring Break vacation for my family!

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

We chose this cruise for length and destinations of warmth to escape the long Ohio winter. This was our first time sailing Norwegian and we boarded with ease at Port NOLA. Helpful tips we wished we knew: while in port, you are still taxed on all your beverages, so hold off on all those drinks until after the ship embarks; the mini-suite can sleep 4, but the beds are left out the entire cruise ...

We wanted to try out Norwegian because we are trying out different cruise lines to see which we like. This was one of the largest we have been on. The shows were wonderful. The staff and crew were very customer oriented. They were always polite and greeted you with a smile. The ship was kept clean. The restrooms were never dirty. The food was great. We will definitely cruise with them again once ...

Sick and Understaffed

Half the staff, including those handling food, were coughing the entire cruise. More than half the passengers were sick with colds. Day 3, two of my family members caught colds. Many staff and passengers didn’t bother covering their mouths. Seemed like they were understaffed, long lines and waits everywhere, especially at the bars. Many of the staff members were friendly others seemed as if the ...

We had a group of 59 meet in New Orleans for 3 full days before boarding for our cruise. Our agent did a fabulous job putting together A swamp/plantation tour, visit to the New Orleans Cooking School and a scavenger hunt. Our days and nights there were amazing! We stayed at the Hampton Inn and Suites Downtown and it was a great location to the heart of the city. Did most of our seeing of the ...

Huge ship but not enough public space.

Yes, this is a huge ship with lots of entertainment options, but because another 4000+ passengers want to do the same things, you'll encounter long lines everywhere or sold out tickets, restaurant reservations, etc. Even the teen club was overcrowded, which is almost comical. After our son found out on the first night that there was a line outside of kids waiting for someone to leave in order to ...

A cruise is what you make of it, and I made it fun.

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Norwegian Escape

The cruise was fun. This was my first solo cruise, so I was a little apprehensive about traveling alone. But I never felt alone. There was always somewhere that I could be around people when I wanted, or somewhere I could find a quiet corner when I did not. The ship is large, and it feels it. It took me a few days before I realized there was an entire public deck that I had missed when ...

Don't Go On the Escape!

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Norwegian Escape

The Norwegian Escape is a noisy, unstable ship. The ride of the ship was horrible. From the first minute we started off, I could feel way too much motion in the ship, much more so than any of the other Norwegian ships that I've been on. There was also too much wind noise from the partitions dividing the balconies. At 7 a.m.each morning, I could hear the morning news through the wall from the cabin ...

The ship was in great shape, everything was clean, and all staff was super friendly as expected. The issue we had was the continuous confusion with nearly everything on board. I assume they had mostly new staff because we would ask multiple people questions and either nobody knew or we would get multiple answers. At every meal, the menu was a mix of lunch, dinner, or different days. We would ...

Great Spring Break Trip!

We just got back from our Spring Break trip on the Breakaway. This was our (myself, husband, 8-year-old son and 2 friends) first time sailing NCL. We have cruised Royal and Disney in the past so we were excited to try it! Overall, we were very happy with our trip and would book Norwegian again. Embarkation and New Orleans: This was a really easy process for us. The key? We arrived around 1:00 ...
