Carnival Liberty Cruise Review by Harris Jeffer
- Sail Date: March 2012
- Destination: Eastern Caribbean
- Cabin Type: Balcony
Arrived at 10:30am boarded 2 hours later after endless lines....this was about 1 1/2 hours too long. There are better/faster systems for boarding which are used by other lines in the carnival family.
Clean with nice cabins , well laid out with plenty of space and storage.
The stewards did a good job at keeping the cabins tidy. The public areas are all well kept and the Liberty has many areas of diverse activities. There is plenty of decent musical entertainment. On the bad side is the volume of the Lido pool deck music. It is so loud that talking , reading or anything else. The serenety deck is nice but it too faces the lido deck and all the noise....so it is hardly serene!!!
Guys burgers are a big hit but not all that great. The main dining is just ok, but way better than Emils breakfast and lunch buffet where you will get powdweed eggs and cold soggy bacon, sausages cut in pieces floating in who knows what! And the lunches ....well we never ever were able to get anything that was remotely warm let alone hot!!! Very dissapointing. The selection and quality of the lunch and dinner buffets was deplorable. BUT on the up side the deli had some of the best pasatrami sandwiches I have ever had on any ship. Unfortunately I do not go cruising to eat sandwiches!Ports:
Typical eastern Carribean Itinery....st Thomas , PR, Half Moon cay, Turks. All well reviewed no problems......well except for the people who came running down the dock as the ship was pulling out! They got left behind.
Disembarcation: It was like embarcation long lines and took too long!
Conclusion: Nice ship, nice ports, terrible cold food. I will not cruise on Carnival again the cost cutting has gone too far. I will stick with HAL, Celebrety, And Princess.
