We are just back from our eleven day cruise to the Canary Islands on Royal Caribbean's "Independence of the Seas".

Sadly we were disappointed with some aspects the ship, it felt overcrowded nearly all the time. It lacks the finesse that we found on Cunard and P&O. The Windjammer restaurant was a nightmare to find a free table to sit at. The food in the Romeo and Juliet was no where near as high a standard as we had on Cunard and P&O. The service however was very good indeed in the Dining room. Our Waitress Beverly was wonderful and very efficient. We had a table for ten people but there were only ever six of us sat at it. We were very fortunate and had two super couples to sit with each evening.

We also found there to be high pressure sales from some of the beauty treatment staff ,one lady in particular pounced on my Husband the very first evening offering fifteen free minutes of acupuncture and she would not leave him alone till he agreed to have some. Needless to say he did not go for the appointment as he was sure she would pressure him into paying for more.
