We set sail on Jan 26 for the eastern caribbean out of Port Canaveral. This was our 4th time on the FOS and our 31st overall. Regardless about my comments below, the passengers were very happy and don't let this discourage you from going on this ship.
The embarkation was fast, but the disembarkation was poor. The weather did not help. They only had one ramp and then the sea pass card machine system did not work. So people were standing still near the ship's exit after their numbers were called. To make it worse, after were standing still for 20 minutes, they called more numbers!. People were commenting that they wanted there surveys back.
Shipboard credit refund - This problem will not happen to most of you, but there could be a time down the road when you can receive a fair amount of SBC and not use it all. First, we always sign up for the "Next Cruise" program on any cruise if we plan to sail on that cruise line again. You put down a small deposit and not name your cruise. We are going on the Celebrity Constellation in a month for 14 days and we will receive $300 SBC in addition to the travel agent throwing in $150. So on the FOS we had a unused credit of a $100 at the last night. I went down to Customer Service and wanted to find out if I could receive credit. The woman who was assigned at the line to answer questions told me that all SBC is refundable - wrong! I found out on the next day that I lost $75. All SBC from Royal Caribbean or RCI in coordination with a travel agency is not refundable. This includes stock holders. On my last FOS sailing, I did receive $200 cash back though.
