Before we boarded the ship, we already knew this particular cruise was American staffed and that had it's own service issues based on other cruise reviews. We booked this cruise anyway as a the itinerary gave us a chance to visit a few of the Hawaiian islands without having to fly from island to island wasting time in airports. We pretty much looked at it as a traveling hotel with meals added in.

We enjoyed the flexibility that we had with the freestyle cruising. We were able to eat when we wanted, and not worry about being back on board in time for dinner.

I would urge those thinking of booking this trip though to do a ton of pre-planning. It goes a long way & can save you lots of money. Read more
