OVERVIEW

My wife and I needed a quick and cheap getaway and stumbled upon Carnival Destiny. We were lured in by an add on the website that listed the 4-day getaway as around $279/person. We booked the cheapest room we could find on the boat but was immediately upgraded to a better location because my wife cruised with Carnival in the past. A few weeks later, we received a call from Carnival about the chance for a $150 upgrade to a stateroom on the 6th floor with a balcony. I ended up taking the upgrade and am extremely happy we did it as we spent a decent amount of time hanging out on the balcony.

A few days before cruising, I looked at cruisecritic to get an idea of what to expect. A lot of the reviews I saw were pretty negative about the boat causing me to go into the trip with rather low expectations. Honestly, I had to reach pretty hard to find a flaw in this ship as we had a pretty perfect experience on Carnival Destiny.
