Traveled with children

We are avid cruisers and take cruises about every year. Usually we sail with Royal Caribbean, but decided on Disney for the enjoyment of our three year old. We were booked in 8010, which is a SUPERB room with a huge balcony. We were able to sit out on the balcony and enjoy the view while our daughter was taking naps, etc. We really enjoyed this room and are looking forward to getting that room again for a future sailing.

Our main concern with Disney was the kids club and how our very shy DD would do in that setting. I have read many reviews that have stated concerns about the Oceaneers Club and the freedom they have to go from the Club to the Oceaneer Lab, which is for the older kids. I thought our daughter would get lost in the shuffle and not have a good time. Boy was I wrong. The counselors were aware of her shyness, but explained they would do their best to get her involved in organized activities. Not only did they do that, there were a couple of excellent counselors we kept on seeing that really helped her participate in organized activities. They definately went out of there way and by the end of our back to back cruises, they all knew her name and gave her big hugs and she gave the hugs right back.

Castaway Cay was fabulous. Being from California I was hoping for a really nice beach area and boy it blew me away.
