My husband, a friend and I just got back from a cruise on the NCL Spirit out of New Orleans. I suggest visiting the city prior to your cruise. We stayed 2 nights at Harrah's Hotel, it was wonderful, a 4.5 star hotel. The rooms were faboulous...the view to the Mississippi. Embarentation was easy. They have it down to a science. Our rooms were ready and our luggage arrived promptly. It took 8 hours to leave the Mississippi and was fun watching the ship depart down the river. Our first day at sea was a little cloudy, but gave us time to acclumate to the ship. First day shore excursion was in Cozumel. We book in advance the Dolphin Swim and it was the best time. Clean, efficient and the dolphins had a wonderful area to work in. Pictures were expensive...restaurant food was excellent. Got back in enough time to spend at the pool which I loved! Second stop was Belize City, Belize. We did the Bacab Park and although we enjoyed it, wouldn't go back. Third stop was Roatan, Honduras and we booked the South Beach Experience, which was the highlight of our trip. It is also known as Parrot Tree Plantation...look it up on line..it was beautiful. The lunch was included and was a super value and the food was good, fresh and they gave great service. Lastly, Costa Maya, Mexico. We just shopped at the dock and they had great shops and restaurants. We did watch the dolphin swim offered there and was very happy we chose the one in Cozumel.

Our room was on the 10th deck and very nice. Our bed mattress needs to be replace. We mentioned it to our room steward John and he had put on the egg crate mattress topper and gave us better pillows and that was great. Room was spotless everyday. Loved the balcony, wouldn't cruise without one.

Food on the ship was great. Only would suggest more variety of food choices in the Garden and Windows restaurants. Specialty restaurant's were very good, Cagney's, Shogun, and Le Bistro.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony

Cabin BA

Ample room in the room and deck...bath room small but sufficient. Plenty of closet space. Mattresses might need to be replaced...needed a egg topper and better pillows. Room service on time every time. Room steward went above and beyond. Will never cruise without a balcony! Love sitting there with my coffee and breakfast and watching the world go bye!
