We set out on a sea excursion on New Years Day, 2012 on the Carnival Spirit. We left out of San Pedro which was very nice.
This was the second time that we sailed with Carnival Spirit which was 3 months prior. Both were fantastic.
In 10/2011 the boarding process was crazy long and drawn out. However, in 1/2012 it was seamless. The boarding was so smooth and so much more relaxing.
Our room we had in October, 2011 was much larger and extravagant than the room we had on January, 2012. I believe in 2011 we had a Suite which I highly suggest that people purchase. The room for January, 2012 was good but with a child it was nice to have the bath tub plus the extra breathing space.
October, 2011 Room
Large and spacious, Mirrored bar and vast storage for water etc. Vanity area which was very spacious and that led to he Bathroom which could have been a room by itself. The bathroom was incredible....spacious and a jaccuzi tub. The closet space for the room was well utilized; however, probably more than what was needed but totally appreciated.
The balcony was very very spacious with double doors leading out. The life boats were right below us, but I didn't mind. The Life Boats do not obstruct the view at all....only if you want to look directly down into the water.
The rooms were well insulted as we could not hear anyone once the door was closed. 8th Level middle of the ship. Our steward - Jose....absolutely loved him. My son wanted to find him when we came back in January. He was the best.
January, 2012
The room was a decent size, not as large as in October, 2011. It wasn't a suite, however, there was a balcony. The balcony was a decent size. If I had to choose, of course I would choose the room in October, 2011.
There was not vanity area just a bathroom which was kind of small. But the bathroom was very nice and clean always. The shower was nice. We were on the 6th Floor towards the front of the ship.
Our steward was Connie. She was so sweet and entertaining. Again, my son absolutely loved Ms. Connie.
