Although we have cruised previously on Celebrity ships, this was our first trip on the Solstice Class ships. Equinox overall exceeded our expectations in nearly every respect, with but a few exceptions.
We booked through AMEX Platinum and received a few category upgrade.
Boarding in Fort Lauderdale was easy. We were dropped at the pier and had a short walk to the counter to receive our boarding passes. The agent at the counter was very pleasant. Within about five minutes, we were in our aft cabin No. 1204 (Concierge Class C1). Our traveling companions were on either side of us. They both had larger balconies than ours due to the location of the crew closet, although the rooms were identically sized. In addition, their beds were by the windows, whereas our were nearer to the door. I would have preferred the bed near the door. If balcony size is important, please check the boards for a post of the aft cabin layouts (and someone even posted a diagramed photo of the aft of the ship!). You will see that certain cabins had smaller balconies. Also be aware that there may be specks of soot on your balcony at times -- not good for white pants!! We were warned of this ahead of time. You will need a towel to cover the chairs.
Aft of ship. Some soot on deck. Not good for white pants. Very quiet and stable. Great view. Deck smaller than neighboring cabins of 1202 and 1206. Bed near door not near window.
