The NOORDAM is a beautiful ship over-all. Decorated with cool color tones and stylish comfortable furnishings in the public areas from one end to the other!

I had a perfect Sunset Verandah Cabin 4176 which is somewhat larger than the others in the VA Category. I loved being on 4 Deck Aft, for me lower was better as on entering the cabin the wake of the ship was in eyeshot. We had a table for two, number 315 which was in the center/upper level in a circular area with only 4 other tables for two. Perfect location, however the service was a disaster and the officious attention from the Maitre 'D's was annoying as we got tired of hearing "tomorrow it will be better". It never did!! The size of the portions are insulting, their so called "Crab Tower" was the size of a 25 cent coin, centered on a dinner sized plate!! Not in the habit of odering more than 2 courses, we left the dining room hungry! For most of the cruise we ate in the Italian Canolleto Restauarnt for dinner. Glen the Maitre 'D was flawless as was the quality and quantity of the food served. The service from the staff was impeccable, always with a smile and in excellent humor! Breakfast in the dining room was perfect, the best Eggs Benedict I have had, and the "English Bangers" a fantastic surprise. The variety of foods available at the LIDO BUFFET was fantastic, especially enjoying the sandwhices of the day. Room service was quick, however you had to order at least two of everything if you wanted to see something on your plate. An order of smoked salmon was the size of a tiny shrimp, with insufficient cream chesse to cover half a bagel!!

There were a couple of odd occurances like being asked to leave the bar one evening at 8PM as they were moving furniture to set up a Chocolate Dessert Table, ignoring the fact that the passengers had not finished their cocktails!!

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean-View Verandah Stateroom

Cabin VB

I had cabin 4176 on the NOORDAM. It is a VA Category "sunset verandah". It is larger than the other VA aft staterooms being just that much wider and 3-4 feet longer with a great view on a over-sized balcony and hearing the heavenly sound of the wake as one cruises foward. There was no audible sounds from the engines and we slept perfectly in peace. My only negative is that there should be some kind of aparatus put on the balcony doors to stop them from slamming. People seem to be egocentric not taking the time to hold their doors while they are closing.

At times the continual banging could drive you crazy as you are trying to have an afternoon nap!

IF YOU WANT A TABLE FOR TWO ASK FOR TABLE 315!!!
