My husband and I just returned from a 14 day cruise to the Panama Canal on the Legend of the Seas. Although the ship is a little older than some, it has a gracious feel. The colors are soft with simple, sleek furniture. It presents a serene feeling. On the whole, the cruise was pleasant.
I'll give you my opinion on the pros and cons.
Food - Good but not excellent Waitstaff in the dining room - Excellent Cabins - CROWDED - but enough room to store personal items even on a 14 day cruise. Windjammer buffet - VERY CROWDED ALL THE TIME. Ill designed and difficult to maneuver with plates of food. Entertainment - GREAT - The best we ever experienced on a cruise ship Solarium - Wonderful place to swim or just relax and read. One important caution - the floor is VERY slick. We saw several people fall and we almost fell several times too. Embarkation - Smooth and quick Disembarkation - Not good because Royal Caribbean changed our port of disembarkation from San Diego to Ensenada. This was at the expense of the passengers as we had to begin boarding busses in Ensenada at 5:00 a.m. and go through customs at the border instead of having customs come to our ship in San Diego. This was time consuming and inconvenient to say the least. In the process, some people had their luggage lost or misplaced (wrong bus?) and it was a mess.
