We cruised on the Carribean Princess for seven days through the Southern Carribean. It was my first trip on Princess and it was a pleasant surprise. We got upgraded from a mini-suite to a vista suite and loved the room and the suite perks. The included laundry and internet service was amazing. The room steward was excellent, which was impressive since he covers nineteen rooms. I really enjoyed having movies under the stars every night and an extensive selection of movie channels, it was a peaceful option compared to a cheesy cruise show. The ship didn't have a lot of kids, which I think is an advantage of sailing out of Puerto Rico and on a line without as much kids entertainment options. This was my first time out of Puerto Rico and I enjoyed getting a port intensive cruise, it was well worth the additional 1.5 hours on a plane to not spend 2-3 more days at sea.

The food on the ship generally exceeded my expectations which surprised me because I'm a food nut. We had private breakfast most mornings at Sabatinis and enjoyed the ship's setup for anytime dining. The wait was typically around 15 minutes for a table for two, or you could walk right in for a shared table.

We tried the Crown Grill once and thought the meal was on par with higher end steakhouses. Service was generally good in the main dining rooms, only one irritated waiter and one comedian. I'd also second many of the other recommendations to go ahead and get the coffee card. The included coffee was pretty poor, but you could get an Americano from the International Cafe. I believe the international cafe's "brewed coffee" is the same poor coffee the rest of the ship had.
