Sail Date: Jan 2012

We were on the Grand a couple of years ago prior to the renovation and although much has changed, some things haven't that should have.

Although the ship's main areas have been updated, some other areas should have been attended to as well - more on that later.

Our Cabin

We usually get a minisuite for the extra room - both living area and bathroom. Once we were on board, the renovations were quite obvious. Once we got to our room - again - not so much. The couch frame and seat cushions were tilted up about four inches from level and every time you sat down the seating area clunked down that far. We asked that it be repaired or replaced and upon arriving back in the cabin later, the maintenance guy told us there was nothing wrong with it. We finally convinced him to just tie it down with wire.

In defense, they have replaced the beds as this was the best bed we have ever had on Princess. They also replaced the deck furniture while we were on board. Although now instead of four deck chairs you only have two, with two foot stools. I agree with everyone else as to the blue matting. It is gone and therefore the metal balcony deck seems dirty and your feet pick up every little piece of dirt or sand which you then track back into the cabin.
