Celebrity Solstice Cruise Review by usaveteran
- Sail Date: January 2012
- Destination: Western Caribbean
We stayed in Aqua Class on deck 11. Our room had easy access to the Aqua Spa facilities and the Persian Garden area as well (which we used every day). Staying with Aqua Class also gave us access to the restaurant Blu. This was our choice for evening dinner sitting between 6:00 - 7:00pm. We enjoyed the food there as it was all well cooked and the perfect temperature each serving. You must try their salmon - excellent. I also booked an evening with Silk Harvest restaurant - a specialty restaurant. This was a very filling dining experience - a little too much salt added, but all in all, very good food. It's a mixture of several Asian styles of cooking. We also ate at the buffet most mornings before our land excursions. They were opened early and offered plenty of variety enough to satisfy even the most pickiest of people. The sushi (afternoons) was plentiful and fresh daily. They even had my favorite morning dish - Nova Lox! Yum! Very good!
Most of the activities were geared toward our senior travelers, but that didn't bother us in the least. The shows at the theater were all very entertaining and well enjoyed by all who attended. We chose this cruise ship because of the low key traveling experience. There were no loud partying crowds to deal with - this was a plus for us. If you're looking for this type of cruise then be sure to book on the Solstice - you won't be disappointed in the least.
To sum it up we were very happy with sailing on the Celebrity Solstice and will continue to book this cruise line in our future! Thanks, Celebrity!!

Costa MayaThis tour included a nice walk to the Mayan ruins on the island. Very interesting indeed as I love history and ancient discoveries. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable of the Mayan culture and traditions. The tour included lunch at a nearby lagoon that included swimming, the use of kayak's or just relaxing at the small beach. It rained this day so we didn't have much time to do either. Can't blame mother nature.View All 1,055 Costa Maya Cruise Port Reviews

CozumelWe booked this Beach Break with Island Marketing, Ltd. Once again, the perfect day was had with the great people who operate Nachi Cocom Beach. Carlos was our host for the day and made sure we were well taken care of. The food and drinks were all included with this excursion. All you can eat and drink - really! No hidden fees no tricks..just pure plain fun in the sun. The beach area and chairs were all kept in pristine condition and made for a very relaxing day there. The food was well prepared and the many types of beers offered were all enjoyable. The water was warm enough to enjoy and the sandy beach most welcome. We'll be sure to visit this spot one day in the near future. Excellent!View All 1,055 Cozumel Cruise Port Reviews

Grand CaymanWe're so glad that we booked this excursion with Fat Fish Adventures. You must do the same should you wind up in this port. Excellent choice! We started off the day with a nice ride on Jet Skis and wound up at Stingray City. Our group only included about 6 people including ourselves so we had ample opportunity to 'play' with the stingrays. No crowds to deal with either. I saw some of the groups that probably booked with the cruise lines and they all seemed so bunched up and unorganized. After this we headed off to a secluded spot to do some snorkeling in the crystal clear ocean waters. What a view! The highlight of the day! We were sorry to end the day as we wished it could have lasted longer. All good things must come to an end, right? Fat Fish Adventures Rules!!View All 1,055 Grand Cayman Cruise Port Reviews

RoatanWe booked the Island Tour excursion thru Celebrity. A little disappointing this time around, though. Kind of boring, except for the brief time we spent at the Butterfly Farm. For me, I love all types of birds, both wild and tame. I enjoyed the interaction between the parrots there and the people who run the operation. Very nice and polite individuals for sure. Some, not all, of the parrots are tame enough for you to hold them. The tour thru the island was too short and uneventful. Unless you enjoy a very slow paced afternoon of walking and looking at different plants and trees, then skip this tour.View All 2,527 Roatan Cruise Port Reviews
