Celebrity Eclipse Cruise Review by P&Bcrew
- Sail Date: December 2011
- Destination: Eastern Caribbean
- Cabin Type: Deluxe Veranda
We had a problem getting to Florida due to mechanical problems with the plane.
It delayed us a bit and we were worried if we would even make the ship.
We called Celebrity about our flight changes and assured them that we were on our way. We also called the Celebrity transfer people to make them aware of our flight change. Both were very accommodating and that was a huge help to us during a very stressful day.
From the moment we checked into the ship at the Miami port, our cruise was wonderful. We sailed away and left all of our worries in Miami. Its easy to forget everything while on a ship.
There is so much to do, the daily program was packed and sometimes we had a hard time picking which activity to participate in. There are such a wide variety of choices from scrap-booking ( i went to 3 classes ) to glass blowing ,to navigational talks. the selection was amazing. I also went to the spa for a massage. if you wait until you are a couple of days into the cruise, the spa did offer a daily special that was a huge savings.
The cabin was perfect , we had a balcony . we loved the bathroom and the room layout. We had coffee and juice on the balcony every morning. The room steward was attentive and very sweet . Always giving service with a smile. The bed was comfy as well as the couch and there were lots of pillows.
The food was great for the whole week. We ate dinner at 830 pm and our table mates were delightful. The waiter and assistant waiter were and absolute delight. They were both from Turkey.
Dinner every night was something to look forward to.
The pool area was huge and we never had a problem finding 2 chairs together and towels were abundant. The adult pool was very relaxing but we did tend to spend more time at the regular pool. it seems like the hot tubs were usually busy at the times that we wanted them but waiting a few minutes then we could get in.The thing that we enjoyed the most was the entertainment. we went to all of the shows and thought the cast was talented. there was live entertainment everywhere. We were surprised and pleased to see how many live groups of music there were.
There was the lounge band, the party band, the jazz band the acapella group, and the orchestra was fabulous. you could catch live music before dinner ,after dinner and in the afternoon at the pool . that was really the best part for us.
our favorite bars were the Passport bar on 3 and the Martini bar on 4 Ocha was our favorite bartender.
We didn't take any Celebrity excursions but went to Megan's bay by taxi on St Thomas. (Beautiful) We took an island tour on St Martin which included some shopping time and a stop at the beach too.
We did not get off in Puerto Rico, we were having too much fun on the ship !!
All in all on a scale from 1-10 DH says the vacation was a 12.
We know it is a privilege to take a vacation like this and would definitely choose Celebrity again in the future
we liked the layout with the bed being closer to the balcony. as soon as you open your eyes in the morning the ocean is right there for you.

St. ThomasWent to Megans bay by taxi, while it is easy to get a taxi at the port and easy to get a taxi back, we thought it was rather expensive.View All 4,104 St. Thomas Cruise Port Reviews
the taxi was $8.00 per person each way. the admission to the beach was $4.00 per person. the Chair rental at the beach was $7.00 each.
then the drinks were $7.50 at the beach .
And when you add it up $73.00 for a trip to the beach for two.
It was Beauful !!
