My wife and I just got back from a holiday Caribbean cruise.

The Summit is tired and in need of a restoration. Our veranda room was Motel 6, unlike the Silhouette (who we cruised on in Sept 2011). The bathroom was disgusting as there was mold in the shower and old shower curtains. The linens and furniture were also worn. There were some other areas of the ship that were worn and needed to be upgraded.

The food on the Summit is cafeteria grade quality. We ate in the dining room one night (Christmas eve). The food was really terrible, so we decided to eat in the buffet area on deck 10 every night (except for one night in the Normandie). Celebrity really needs to look at improving the quality of the food and a healthier selection to eat. While edible, it can be undercooked, have a lot of oil, and just not healthy. We've been on 6 Celebrity cruises, and this was the worst food we have ever had. The Normandie was ok, but overpriced at $40 a person. Also the select dining is a scam. We requested a table for 2, and they said they couldn't accommodate us. Unless you paid for select dining. What a waste of money.
