Background Information
I am 68 years old, my wife is 60, and I am a Carnival Platinum cruiser. This was my 16th cruise overall, 14th on Carnival. This was her 2nd cruise -- we were married during this cruise in Georgetown, Grand Cayman. (Keeping a long story short -- we were actually planning on getting married in Grand Cayman on a cruise two weeks earlier, but high winds prevented us from making port in Grand Cayman. So, this cruise, intended to be our honeymoon cruise, became our wedding AND honeymoon cruise!)
I am one of those people who firmly believe that there is no such thing as a "bad" cruise. Yes, you may encounter a speed bump now & then, but with flexibility and finesse, the apparent rough road can always be ironed out into a smooth sailing experience. I also most ardently embrace Arthur Frommer's concept of why we cruise, i.e., "to be at sea." All else is extra topping and not really an essential part of the main event. Put me on the ship and just spin around the harbor for a week, and I'll be happy!
A nice suite with all the expected amenities. Great view from the balcony from bow to stern, this cabin is located above the lifeboats. Dual sinks, jacuzzi tub, hair-dryer, ample closet space, bar/refrigerator, couch, cocktail table, chair. Location is good, close to forward elevators, but not that far to the midships location. All in all it was a very nice location.
