We found Costa Maya to be very commercial - poured concrete for the touristas, although we did have an enjoyable lunch there & did a bit of shopping.

Costa Maya

Belize was refreshingly real - the people were wonderful there.
We took a horse & buggy around town with a young man who was born & raised on the island and he gave us all the info & answered all of our questions.
Later we did a little exploring on our own and enjoyed our day there very much.

Belize City

WE split up here as my daughter went scuba for the day & I found a cute little cafe on the water & spent a couple of hours reading, the shopping local while I waited for her to return.

Roatan

A unique experience - great to see all the marine life on the reef up close and 100 feet down.

After our sub ride, we taxied to a nice beach, had lunch there & went parasailing with an independent operator - it was great.

Cabin was fine - didn't spend much time there anyway - sink clogged, and bathroom light died, but our steward, Frankie was there to fix
Our location was great - midship, so not too far a walk to anywhere

This practise should be amended to those who can show proof of booking excursions - with or without NCL - and should be given equal tender so they can get ashore on time.My two major issues were: 1) being nickle & dimed over pop(last time I checked, pop was a non-alcoholic beverage) & specialty coffees (which, by the way were not good) and  2)the tendering procedure in Roatan.
