This was my first cruise, and I was absolutely delighted with the experience. The food in the main dining room was excellent, the service was fast and professional, and presentations were impressive. In Scarlet's super club, the service was actually worse, but the food was heavenly and exquisite. I enjoy dining, so dinners lasting and hour and a half within my expectations. I frequent restaurants where dinner takes four hours.
What absolutely amazed me is the variety of dining venues from which to choose. One can get sandwiches, burgers, and very average (but popular) American style fare in the generous buffet area. However, I definitely preferred the more formal atmosphere in the main dining room. The portion sizes were perfect. They are small, so one can enjoy breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack, a four course dinner, and still not be a stuffed pig. People that want volume instead of quality can gorge themselves at the buffet, and many were clearly enjoying doing exactly that.
We enjoyed complementary room service each morning. On days with an early port call the orders were often slightly wrong, but with nearly everyone on the ship asking for service at the same time I was impressed.
