We are avid cruisers and were excited to try Celebrity. We were told they are on a par with Royal Caribbean. The Millenium is an older ship - that did not bother us. However, I have never, on any cruise seen a crew that was so indifferent. On every cruise we've taken the staff goes above and beyond, this crew was mediocre. So many little details were gone on this vacation - all of them started to add up. No towel animals on the bed, two employees talking to each other while I waited to order coffee (I can get that in New York), tried to change an excursion and was told I may loose my money - meanwhile THEY wound up cancelling it anyway and we had to change on the pier, ship was not as clean as the others, the food was OK, some things were good, some were not - it was hit or miss, I was actually admonished when I reached for a small bowl of something at the buffet (I wish they would make up their minds, one day you serve yourself the next day its someone yelling "don't do that I will get it for you"). Almost every event was a sales pitch with very few exceptions. Honestly we bought the cruise - can't they just have an honest to goodness fun activity without trying to sell us something. When an event was being led by a crew member, sometimes they were missing at points throughout that activity. I went to get a massage by the pool (per the schedule) and I was told they were running late and weren't out there...this is how the cruise went. These were just my notices, my husband had his own set. We are not picky people but have gotten used to the pampering we receive on the other cruise ships. I guess since we've been on so many cruises, we notice when service is missing. Also - not a good cruise for kids, very few things for them to do.

Good points: The Olympic restaurant was the best thing on the boat. The food was absolutely perfection! The indoor pool is heated with iron-like seats to lay on in the pool and children are not allowed in that section, the sauna was great and free. The ocean view room had a huge window which made the room seem bigger. Every time we left the room, when we returned it was clean. The entertainment was very good - Metropark was fantastic as was the juggler and the bands. Line dancing by the pool was well run. Excursions were really fun. Xrail in Cozumel was outrageous - we got to swim in a cave, bats hanging from the top (they didn't bother you). Hiking in the Jungle in Hondourus - don't do it unless you are very balanced and decently in shape. It is straight up with a potential to fall on the way down if you are not sure footed. Beach part was fun. Top of the hill view was real nice.

I would recommend this cruise for first timers with no kids. Anyone who has been on Royal Caribbean or Princess probably will not be as happy on this cruise. We were disappointed by our first Celebrity experience. We will not be so quick to commit to another Celebrity cruise in the near future.

Cabin Review

Cabin 03

Cabin seemed bigger because the ocean view was much bigger. The room was very nice.
