Celebrity Constellation Cruise Review by kikaan
- Sail Date: November 2011
- Destination: Transatlantic
- Cabin Type: Family Ocean View with Balcony
We were bussed to town where we could wander until 5 PM
Ship and cabin spotless clean and shiny.
Staff very polite, smiling, attentive and efficient.
We noticed that the library was closed. This is an important aspect of cruising for us since we are bookworms. We were assured that it would reopen "soon"
The meals and wines at the restaurant were of outstaning quality, as always with Celebrity. At the self-service restaurant however you had to stand in line for everything, including some extra sugar, water, milk.....
Passengers were not allowed to touch anything = too long waiting periods
All this to avoid repetition of the virus experience.
What really bothered us, more and more as the cruise went on, was the loud music everywhere and all the time. This music (techno) was disturbing to everybody.
It sounded like background music for a film about nightmares. It was the conversation subject number one. Most passengers were 55 to 75. Very few amateurs of these "sounds" aboard.Protests by us and fellow passengers did not help : "we're under orders from Miami"..... ??????
The shows except one (the imitator) were of superb quality. Very enjoyable.
We appreciated the possibility to check our account on the cabin's TV.It gave us the opportunity to have two overcharges corrected immediately.
Our thanks for the dedication of our cabin attendant Alvin and waiter Geronimo
(yes : and Indian but from India).
Except for that dreadful music and closed library : a most enjoyable cruise experience.
The library remained closed for the duration. This with seven consecutive days at sea.It was the only place aboard that remained inaccessible because of possible infection (????). All kitchens, bars, sauna open...... Go figure !
You do need to walk a while to get to the stairs.
