If I had to use one word to describe the Ruby Princess it would be "charming". We chose to book a 7 day cruise with Princess because we had a good experience on the Crown Princess 2 years ago. We found the ship to be very tastefully decorated and extremely clean and well kept. We had an obstructed ocean view after being upgraded after booking. Our stateroom was standard, liked the colors better than the Crown which is a sister ship. The room was kept up well by Peter our steward, he was polite, but not very friendly, which was surprising.

We found the ship to be spacious and not crowded, considering the amount of people that were booked on it.The piazza area is very appealing with the usual cafe fare and entertainment. We did however find the guest service on the ship to be very inconsistent. The DaVinci dining room wait staff was excellent and went above and beyond to provide a great dining experience during breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food could use some improvement in seasonings and better variety of fish and it's preparations. If you are a vegetarian, I suggest speaking to the head waiter and making special requests for any food that you may enjoy as there is not an adequate selection of vegetarian dishes. I ordered Indian food one evening and it was very good. We also very much enjoyed the tea time and feel that it is one of the best that we have attended with a good selection of baked goods and sandwiches and again, exceptional customer service. The food on the breakfast and lunch buffet was decent, however we found the staff to be not very warm and some of the areas lacked the above average beverage service that Princess usually provides.Pizza is NY style and a good lunch or snack option, especially when watching a movie under the stars. We dined at Sabatini's one evening and we very impressed with our waiter Miki who did an outstanding job in providing a memorable dinner. The food, presentation and service showed a high level of quality.

Entertainment was cruise ship standard, nothing really sticks out in my mind to comment about. Princess Cay is an average beach, it seemed to be very rocky this time and uncomfortable to walk on the beach and in the water. The lunch buffet was unorganized and messy, with a poor selection of lunch items and desserts, going back onboard the ship to eat is a better option I feel.
