We live just 45 minutes from Port Canaveral and cruise from there often. I always tell people that it is the greatest port to cruise from. This time there were mishaps at embarkation.

The Ecstasy was late arriving form New Orleans because of high winds and waves rounding the Cape of Florida. Carnival did keep me updated with calls and we new to arrive at the port at about 3:30. The major problems with embarkation was that the terminal was switched from Carnivals normal terminal 5 to a little used old gambling boat dock at terminal 3. This was the ports fault and not Carnivals.

We used the new park 'n Cruise for parking and it was great. We were directed to an area south of our terminal to unload our luggage. It was in the middle of a parking lot. We were then dropped off at seldom used south cargo ports terminal 4 to wait for our ship to come in. Read more
