Just returned from the re-postioning Cruise on the Jewel out of Boston. This 14 day cruise had 6 full days at sea, and stopped at 6 Caribbean islands as well.

THE STORM

I noticed others wrote of the storm as we left Boston. It was bumpy ride. The ship rode it out well, considering the captain told us it was one of the worst storms he had encountered in 35 years at sea. My husband and I did not get sea sick, and they say being at the top of the ship you feel it more, we slept through the worst of it at night.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D1

Cabin has good location on Deck 9. No cabins across the hall. Very quiet, no noise from above or below since it is between two cabin decks. Large pull out couch, and pullman above the couch, sleeps four. Balcony is standard size, but roomy enough. Two chairs and a good size table, enough to have breakfast on.

Bathroom is small, but it works. Rounded shower is a tight fit. The shampoo and soap are the only amenities nothing special in this D1 cabin but they work fine. They provided plenty of hangers in the closet, and though it is tight. Very tight between the closet and bathroom and entrance door.
