I sailed on the Norwegian (The Starward and The Sunward II) more than 25 years ago, and they have not lost their touch. Service and food was terrific, and being able to have dinner in either the Magenta or Grand Pacific any time we wanted and not have to share a table with people we don't know was great. They keep everything very clean and in good condition. Dirty plates are cleared from tables in the Garden Cafe almost immediately. Cabin are also very clean and well kept. Our steward was very nice and attentive.

We loved the design and layout of the ship. Lots of cool and funky lounges, like the Bliss Lounge with the bowling alleys and the Spinnaker Lounge. We especially liked the Bliss Lounge with all the oversized vintage looking furniture and great atmosphere. The aft deck in the Garden Cafe is wonderful. Last year we were on the Carnival Freedom and found it a bit hard to get around, and no outside eating deck. The Gem was very easy to navigate through.

All the entertainment was great. We ate just once in a speciality restaurant, the japanese hibachi, and it was very good. All the food was excellent, and the Garden Cafe has many stations around so you're generally not waiting in long lines for food. It's laid out very well.

Family Balcony

Cabin B3

This cabin is in a good location since it's forward and right off an elevator bank. Very convenient.
