Just got home from our repositioning cruise from Boston to Tampa. Little rough the first days out as we were hit hard with a nor'easter that was pounding coastal US. But as soon as we sailed past Miami, it was wonderful. Not that those rough days were out of the Atlantic ordinary. We really don't mind the rough seas. It was a great trip, we met so many new friends on this trip that we will continue to keep in touch with them over the years. Yes, Janice and Phil, I know you will read this.

Our only complaints are the smoking. Not so much on decks, but the casino. They have evidently not figured out how to keep the smoke in there and no where else on this ship as it did creep out and get into the Centrium where you could smell the tobacco smoke on almost every level. Terrible!!! Our wait staff - Suzzette and Sergi were fantastic and made our cruise even more fun every night. However the head waiter was just so so...so, so so, that I don't even know his name as he was only visiting when it got closer to the end of the cruise and he wanted to make sure we knew who he was so he would earn his tip.

Our stateroom attendant Rhodera (sp) was also super. She was always around and attentive to our needs even though they are not great like some of the other guests. We always kept our room clean and picked up and our towels in one place, so she just could come in and get things cleaned quickly and efficiently. Bar service - well, we mostly hung out in the Schooner Bar and the bar staff was also great there. They do make the best drinks on the ship. Our only other complaint and not a serious one was the "sewage" smell on various days and sometime in the thermal spa. We've sort of gotten use to having that smell after a few days and well, I think that somehow they could do something about it. All in all, it was a great, fantastic cruise and would probably do it again if I didn't have others planned. I would like to complain about RCI not doing the Panama Canal however, but we will do this on Celebrity in October 2012.

Cabin Review

Interior Stateroom

Cabin K

Cabin 8573 - It was sufficient for our needs, we've learned how to pack for the number of days at sea so we have enough room in the closet and drawers. Toilets didn't work on one day, but it was fixed soon enough. Someone probably put something down the system that clogged it. At least that was what we were told. Our attendant was outstanding. Room was always clean. It was a little dark, but we got around that. The adjoining cabins were quiet an we didn't know if there was even anyone there except for the occasional flush of the toilet. Would book this room again in a heartbeat.
