Just back from 5 wonderful days on Celebrity's Millennium. I promised a review before I left because I could find so little on the ship and this is a new itinerary for her. So...here we go:
I am a professional female, single, 50+, who doesn't quite believe I am as old as I am. I traveled solo. Before you gasp for air horrified that this poor old lady travels alone...I want you to know I really prefer to travel solo on a cruise.
I am an admitted "Krusaholic" Took my first cruise for my 1 year anniversary and I won it in a bowling tournament. Traveled on the NCL Starward and was amazed at the concept of a ship so big...I think it was 16,000 tons....LOL A life raft at today's standards. The Millie was my 35th cruise, I have sailed Carnival (the most), RCL, Princess, NCL and Holland America...in that order of frequency.
The Cabin: Really nice layout; great storage; very functional; Consider where you are though...I had cabins below and could hear every bass note from the Theater
I was on Deck 7, Cabins above and below. Just as I laid my head on my pillow, they started a rehearsal of the show that night. Almost shook me out of my bed...those poor folks on Deck 6. This is the only complaint I had and I worked through it.
I am very picky in selecting my cabin. Several years ago I was on a 10 day cruise on the Splendor of the Seas....Under the Ping Pong Table. 10 days of hell! So I try to choose a deck sandwiched by other cabin decks...not good enough here. Any time there was something going on in the Theater...I heard it loud and clear. Cabin 7028. It was very forward but I thought cabins under me would protect me...not so! There was still enough quiet time for my nap though.
