Prior to sailing, I'd read several unfavorable reviews on this message board specifically about poor service cruisers had received on The Pearl. The complaint seemed to be attributed to NCL's trademark "Freestyle" dining, and the fact that a $12 daily gratuity was automatically charged to the account of each cruiser, thereby removing the incentive to provide quality service.

I'm here to tell you, THAT HAS CHANGED! It didn't matter where we were (buffets, main dining rooms, specialty restaurants, pool, clubs, casino, etc), we were treated like VIPs and consistently given top quality service! The waiters, bussers, hostesses, etc couldn't do enough for you, or do it fast enough.

I wish we'd receive that level of service at the restaurants we frequent at home!

Great central location! Buffet and pool deck are just up one flight of stairs. It's below (or very close) to the kids club so I at times, I heard some stomping around from time to time. If I hadn't already unpacked, I'd have asked to be moved.
