We booked this cruise 12 days in advance and got better service and dinner seating than those who booked ONE YEAR ahead of time!!! Heard LOTS of Diamond Plus people complaining about their dinner seating. They were seated in what can only be described as a booth at IHOP! I cannot believe they actually have tables like these in a grand dining room, but I saw it with my own eyes. Had this been my table, I would have been VERY disappointed. Some had even personally called the head waiter before the cruise to discuss their arrangements.
We are Platinum members, as we are not cruise line loyal folks. We tend to look for the destinations rather than the cruise line. Ship was sailing at full capacity but never seemed more crowded than the other ships we've sailed. Dinner food was your typical cruise fare.We chose to avoid the Windjammer and have breakfast in the Solarium - much quieter. But this ship had amazing venues. Chicago was great, as was Blue Planet and the Aqua Theater. Had absolutely NO TROUBLE getting seats without pre-booking them. I absolutely HATE the smoking allowed in the lounges. Having been to the ports of call (Nassau, St. Thomas, St. Martin) several times, we mainly went to see the ship. Been there, done that, and will not return. Ship is too large to fit in more interesting ports of call.
Ports: Only had 6 hours in Nassau, so we walked around the market. Went to Trunk Bay while in St Thomas. Took the ship excursion, as this ship did not dock at Havensight and we were unsure about taxi to Red Hook Ferry. Trunk Bay never fails us. No crowds and so deserving of its title as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. In St Marteen, we shopped around town and took a water taxi back to the ship. We have been to the beaches and the French side on previous sailings.
