This was our 2nd cruise with Celebrity and both times were on their small, older ships. The first was on Summit and now on Century. I think we will try their larger, newer ships in the future because these were both plain and dated. For example, I couldn't stand up straight in the tub to shower (I'm 6'6") on either one and even though we had sky suites there was little storage space for clothes. Being in Alaska for 14 days in September means you need more and heavier clothes, our other cruise with them was Eastern Canada, also in September and also 14 days.

First, a word of warning about pre and post packages. We had a 2-day pre-cruise package in Vancouver and a 2-day post-cruise package in San Diego. Most parts went well, being met at the airport and taken to the hotel and later transferred to the ship. Sutton Place in Vancouver and Embassy Suites in San Diego were excellent choices. But, after the cruise was over and we had stayed in San Diego someone was supposed to pick us up and take us to the airport. That never happened even though we had paid for transfers. We ended up getting a cab so we wouldn't miss our flight. Also, Summit Place charged us for the room even though we had pre-paid it. I took my bill and receipt to the desk when we checked out and they fixed it. But after we got home, the charge was still on our credit card bill.

Celebrity had an excellent crew on both ships. They were friendly and seemed happy and did an excellent job. The cruise directer was excellent, but he shouldn't sing with the band, it isn't his strong point and made the sail-away a bit hard to bear. The ship itself wasn't all that interesting after being on newer ships like Oasis. It was small and old and creaked something terrible in our cabin during rough seas at night.
