We took a family cruise which included 17 people in toll. We had 2 - 16 year olds, a 6 year old, a 19 month old, and a 16 month old. And everybody from my Mom (the grandmother) to my son of 16 months had a blast. I really didn't know how he was going to react, but everytime he sees a picture of the ship he goes crazy over it! Our steward was very accomodating along with our dining room wait staff. The boat is very clean, and no matter what time of the day I saw people cleaning something somewhere. The layout was a little different for me since the Lido deck was so far from everything else to do on the 2nd and 3rd floors, but I got used to it. (I had only been on the Carnival Glory before this, and everything seemed to be together). The food in the dining room was usually outstanding, but the buffets weren't always as appetizing. My husband and I always enjoyed the fish they made on the buffet, but that was about it. Well, of course the burgers, hot dogs, and chicken fingers too having a little one with us. Which, was nothing overally spectacular. Anyways, we had an extended balcony which was completely worth it. I don't know that I can ever go back to an ocean view or interior room now. ;) The shows were awesome! The cruise director and his staff were hilarious, and you could tell the really enjoyed what they were doing. There was tons of stuff to do on board all the time, which we only had time for about a quarter of it, it seemed like.
The ports of call were amazing! This was my husband and in-laws first cruise, so I really enjoyed them seeing some of these places for the first time! I had already been to Cozumel and Belize, but had not been to Roatan and Grand Cayman. Our entire group fell in love with Roatan. That was the only disappointing thing, I wish we could have spent more time there! It was just beautiful!
I really have no complaints. Everybody was so accomodating with having a little one, which I can honestly say he was pretty well behaved most of the time. :) My father-in-law was skeptical about a cruise, but he said he would do it again in a heart beat! If he loved it, I know anybody would! :)
Loved this room! Awesome extended balcony! We had lots of room! It was very clean, and it's the same layout as most of the balcony and ocean view rooms. We even had a crib put in it for our baby, and it never felt too tight for the 3 of us (I did have to make sure everything stayed picked up so it wouldn't feel that way). The ONLY bad thing is, the room and balcony are "set in" from the regular balcony rooms. And since 6257 is only the 2nd cabin "set in" the regular rooms block a little bit of your view when you look out to your left. My sister had 6259 as well so we had the divider and we'd go to her room so we could see a little more "ahead" if we wanted to.
