A wonderful cruise on NCL Dawn to Bermuda even though the weather all week was atrocious. Let me start by saying that I began by purchasing a balcony room for single occupancy. Later, as prices were reduced I spent an additional $100 to upgrade to a mini suite never suspecting that as the ship was not full that NCL would upgrade me to an Owner's Suite which consisted to LR, DR, BR, 2 Baths, Dressing Room, a front facing balcony and another, double size side facing balcony. What luxury with Butler and Concierge service. I also note that although I am a Platinum member at NCL, their highest level, that I do not sail NCL all that often for I am a single and they have a policy of charging singles double fares. I usually opt for RCI, Cunard, Crystal etc. which have lower single supplemtents.

I arrived at Boston's Cruise Pier for embarcation and was immediately taken in hand, off to a VIP area, introduced to my Butler and Concierge and immediately walked aboard to my suite which was waiting three hours before other statrooms were available. Then it was off to Cagney's Restaurant where suite pax. eat breakfast and lunch. On return to the suite I was given a "menu" to order 4 bottles of liquors/wines etc. along with unlimited waters, soft drinks etc.

As all know NCL features "Freestyle Dining" with several "free" restaurants and about a dozen "fee" restaurants. I ate in La Cuccina the first night ($10), Le Bistro the second night - free as a Platinum benefit, and the "free" restaurants the rest of the week. On my last NCL cruise I thought that the food in the "free" restaurants was just "OK. This time food was much improved and was most enjoyable. My only adverse comment is that at lunch the menu stays the same day after day. Now of course you can go to one of many other lunch option restaurants, each of which has a different menu, but if you return to the same venue the lunch menu is the same all week. Strange I thought unless they are really trying to get you to try "another place".
