We cruised on the Norwegian Gem our first time cruising experience, We found the whole trip excellent with a few minor critiques, The stateroom was roomy and very clean the maid service was excellent. The whole ship was clean and quite fabulous. As it was freestyle cruising I imagined it would be like a vast Ferry, but was very pleasantly surprised with the whole experience. The downsides.. being a vegetarian although the food was good, i got bored with Pasta type dishes as most of the chefs appeared to be eastern I don't suppose the are very aware of the concept. I did get fed up with the constant suggestion that our photograph be taken.

The whole cruise was restful and very good a lot of hard work was put into the entertainments, which we enjoyed very much. I would cruise again with the NCL.
