My wife and I are in our 60's and have taken six previous cruises. We took this cruise in order to see the islands and we didn't expect this cruise to meet the quality level of our other cruises. We flew from Los Angeles to Honolulu and took a pre-arranged shuttle to the pier. Embarkation went smoothly and were aboard the ship in approximately 20 minutes. We went directly to the buffet, enjoyed a meal and then toured the ship. We sat by the pool until our cabin was ready about 3 p.m. Some people had taken their swim suits in their carry-on, changed in the restroom and swam while they waited. Our balcony cabin located midship on deck 10 was an excellent location. Very quiet and close to the elevators. It's size was adequate with plenty of storage space including under-bed storage for suitcases. We met our cabin steward as we were unpacking. He kept our cabin clean and tidy throughout the cruise although our room didn't get made up until late in the day most days. I think that was because our steward had too many rooms to handle. One of the concerns we had was whether the level of service would be adequate. We found the service to be excellent. Every crew member was very helpful and friendly. We only ate in the dining room the first night. All of our other meals were eaten in the buffet or poolside grill. Once we realized that the dining rooms offered nothing that couldn't be found in the buffet and the buffet offered an even greater variety, we opted for the buffet. The food was adequate but uninspired. We ate one dinner in the Cadillac Diner where there was an extra charge for the milkshake. We did not eat in any of the specialty restaurants. There was never a problem finding a lounge chair poolside and the shipboard entertainment was excellent. We saw a couple of production shows, one was excellent, the other not very good. Comedian Tim Kaminski and magician Matt Marcy were both excellent. Musician "Toby Beau" had several shows that were excellent. Embarkation went very smoothly and we opted to carry our suitcases off ourselves rather than put them out the night before.

Our balcony cabin located midship on deck 10 was an excellent location. Very quiet and close to the elevators. It's size was adequate with plenty of storage space including under-bed storage for suitcases. A dispenser for shampoo and soap was in the shower.
