We were married in May and couldn't wait for our honeymoon. Unfortunately our stateroom on the Carnival Liberty smelled like exhaust fumes almost the entire time. We informed staff several times but that didn't help too much. All they did was give us a complaint #'s and put strong deodorizer and this big blue fan thing in our room while we had to go some place else for a couple hours while they aired out our room. We are not fussy people but this was ridiculous. The smell was so bad it woke us up at night and we went on the decks just to sleep. We were very patient with them but time and time again the smell came back - and no one seemed to care! No remorse or compensation, change of rooms or anything! Come on Carnival, help a poor couple on their honeymoon out! Geez!

On another note the food was less than what I had remembered from so many trips with Carnival before (trust me I have been cruising since I was 4). Entertainment... yikes. Pool crowded. Also one of our excursions was canceled and they did not refund our $$$.

For the most part (outside the cabin) we had a great time and can tell our grandkids someday about our crazy honeymoon. Feels good to vent... :-) We added a vow to our marriage on our honeymoon: never cruise carnival again :-p I have had much better experiences with NCL and Royal. Would have booked with one of them instead but they didn't go to Eastern Caribbean which we preferred in May 11'
