Hello~My husband and I just came back from a four night cruise on the Majesty of the Seas..This was our first cruise and I think it will be our last..at least for a few years..We were extremely excited about the trip..I have to say the service aboard was excellent..The staff were helpful and pleasant..The food in the dining room was great..We ate there every night for dinner..We were not impressed with the buffets they provided..The room was kept very clean by our state room attendant and it helps to leave an extra tip for them everyday even though the cruiseline automatically takes out the gratuities and adds it to your bill..The entertainment was ok..We laughed at the comedy shows and the pool party seemed to be a big success with the younger crowd..My husband and I are in our forties..not "old" but not "25" either..Had read reviews of the POOL PARTY buffets and was really looking forward to it..too bad we were disappointed..They had corn dogs and chicken wings..cold cuts and desserts..The most disappointing was a "ROAST PIG"..It looked really appetizing..When I got it on my plate..it was like a meatloaf..IDK..very strange..needless to say I did not eat it..The ports were ok..We had been to Nassau a few years ago and knew what to expect..had a lovely day at Atlantis..Be aware though..The Atlantis has heightened their security and when you used to be able to just walk around the resort..now there is an employee at every entrance to the resort pool areas, etc. and if you are NOT wearing a wristband showing you had paid for a day pass..they will NOT let you through..We DID make it to the beach and walked through the resort however I can NOT reveal how we did so without paying for the day..The water was absolutely gorgeous..even better than the first time we had been..I love the Atlantis..It really is worth seeing..Was not really impressed with our first trip to Key West..The last port of call..nice to say that we went..but for the most part..it is just a bunch of gift shops and pubs..no beach access unless you take a cab or pay big $ and take a boat..so not worth the $..I do however recommend walking down to the "Southernmost Tip" of the US..everyone said to take a trolly or taxi but we walked it in about 30 minutes..bring water to keep hydrated..we figured we would never be there again..good photo opportunity at the buoy..We were lucky enough to have calm waters to take the tender at COCO CAY..Beautiful..but we did have rain..BBQ disappointing as well..Ok~So you are probably wondering if the trip seemed good..why are we not planning another? I will tell you..overall it was a great experience..not unhappy..but disappointed..We had a Junior Suite with a balcony..very comfortable..great view..BUT~There are ROACHES on this ship..YES~ROACHES..They don't seem to be in the state rooms or in the dining areas..but they were on my balcony and we saw some on the top deck too..Housekeeping came and sprayed and it helped..but after that I was conscious about it and always looking around..I was also worried about bringing the bugs back home with me..After talking to management..they reimbursed some of the $ for my inconvenience..but it was a real turn off and I believe ALL ships probably have this problem..maybe even rats in the lower decks..we saw some running on the ground at the port in Nassau..The cruise crews probably are able to "control" the situation..not fix and remove the critters..When you think about it..all big city restaurants most likely have this problem and no one knows..I wondered why no one had complained..but there were a variety of passengers and either they were too drunk to notice or they live with bugs and don't care..Well..I am going to end this..if there is a way to e-mail me any questions..feel free..If you haven't booked this cruise yet..I may recommend you reconsider..Go to an All-inclusive on an island somewhere..food is better and the alcohol is included..Our bill was almost $1000.00 USD after the cruise for drinks and things we purchased..pictures..massages..Anyway..GOOD LUCK..Hope this helps..I know I tried to find out as much as I could before sailing and was reading reviews daily..Take it easy..
