This was my 5th cruise, second with Norwegian and so far it my favorite. I have even been to Alaska twice, but this cruise blew those trips out of the water. I went went my boyfriend, my parents (2nd cruise) and another couple that were friends with my parents (this was their first cruise).

We drove down to New Orleans the day before, stayed the night at the Holiday Inn Superdome so we could have free parking during our cruise. The next morning the hotel shuttled us to the cruise port. We arrived about 11:00, got checked in pretty quick, even with some of us in the priority line and some in the regular line. There were snacks (cookies and drinks)to munch on while we waited for the boat to load. We were on the boat with in the hour. We went to the buffet to get a quick bit and while in line an announcement was made that our rooms were ready.

I read reviews about how bad the food was, but it was not bad or bland at all. It was the best. The first night was Lobster, the rest of the week was shrimp and steak, pork chops, prime rib, etc. Everything was great. We became good friends with 2 very good waitress (Eden and Jeane) in Windows (We ate there every night and breakfast and sometimes for lunch) And they told us there was a new Chef on board and he was trying out a new menu. He was from Germany, and he did a great job on the food. We were never disappointed. In the morning it was very quiet and calm compared to the noise and extremely busy buffet. We did eat at the Blue Lagoon several times. They served hamburgers, chicken fingers, fries, hot wings, etc., It reminded me of an Applebees type of place. It was nice to have something in the middle of the ship to stop for a bite.

Our room was just like any cruise room, plenty of room for two. The bathroom was nice. It was one of the best I have seem on a ship. When you walked in you saw the sink and plenty of shelves for your items then there was sliding shower doors on your right and left. On the right was a shower and the left was the toilet. It was a great layout.
