The Summit was everything we expected & then some. The embarkation was so fast I was shocked. We basically went through as fast as we could walk! We were of course greeted with wine and champagne and found our cabin ready and waiting. We were traveling with our 24 year old daughter who spent the first 2 nights with us until I managed to pay to upgrade her to her own inside cabin down the hall. Surprisingly, we got all three of our clothes into the cabin without any problem! Quite an accomplishment as both my wife and daughter always opt for the "take it if you might need it" philosophy.
I also quickly realized that 8003 is quite a bit larger than the average cabin. I am guessing about 240 square feet, plenty of room for the three of us. Our cabin steward was an Indian fellow named Luis who was very accommodating, quickly figured out our idiosyncrasies.
The food on the Summit was truly outstanding. We had escargot that was as good as I've had anywhere, and the service was also superb. We ate in the Normandy one night, and found it to be equal to any fine New York restaurant, La Cirque, etc. Well worth the $30 per person. I brought my own wine and was happy to pay the $15 corking fee each night.
