We sailed out of Seattle on the Norwegian Pearl for a 7 day cruise to Alaska Sunday August 7, 2011. The Ports on our itinerary were Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan and Victoria. On Thursday we traveled up and down Glacier Bay, which was the highlight of our week. This was our second cruise on NCL, the first one was on the Dawn from NYC to Canada in September of 2009.

Although we had several minor complaints/suggestions with Norwegian, we had a fantastic time. One of the primary reasons was our fabulous Cruise Director Richard. I read several articles on cruising wherein the authors claimed the Cruise Director can make or break a vacation and they were right on the money.

THE SHIP: The Norwegian Pearl is beautiful and very well maintained. Unfortunately there were 2,900 passengers on our cruise, that's a lot of people.
