Just returned from my second cruise aboard a Celebrity ship, this time the Infinity on a roundtrip out of Seattle to Alaska. We were incredibly lucky with weather- it didn't rain one drop the entire week! Every day was quite comfortable in temperature and either sunny or partly cloudy. I even got a slight sunburn while in Ketchikan! Who knew I would need sunblock in Alaska?

Embarkation- The port in Seattle was pretty crowded when we arrived. The line to get through security went quite quickly even though it was long. The line to check in was another story. We waited in line for more than 45 minutes while our travel partners who were concierge walked right on the ship. Oh well....Seems though that the port could more efficiently redistribute ticket agents who are not helping concierge and suite guests to help tackle the regular guests, but that is a port issue, not Celebrity's. Disembarkation went smoothly upon arrival back in Seattle. We were off the ship with luggage in hand in around 20 minutes.

Ship Appearance- Although the ship is older and scheduled for a dry dock, she looked good to me. Sure there were some areas where wear and tear was apparent or rust was on a corner of a railing, but nothing major. Most of the artwork wasn't my taste, but it looked fine- clean, updated, etc. I feel that the colors on this ship were a bit lighter than the colors on the Summit in the rooms and dining areas.

Cabin Review

Ocean View 4

Cabin 04

Cabin- We had an oceanview cabin on deck 2. The cabin was small, as expected. However we separated the bed into two singles and it made the space much more useful as we could use the space in between the beds. The window was nice and big and let a good amount of light in the room. Storage was adequate for two people. Room was clean. TV did not work though. I never reported it though as we never watched TV anyways, so I can't comment on whether or not they would fix it. Also, there are only two outlets usable in the room, so you may want to bring a powercord if you have a lot to plug in. You could definitely hear the hum of the engine, however it was not that loud and constant enough to not cause a problem with sleeping. I heard no other noises from adjoining rooms or rooms above.
