This was my second cruise and my husbands first cruise. My husband was expecting really good food. He thought the food at dinner was just so so. What made it better was our server German. He was great. We ate at the Elation dinning room for most of our meals. The soups are good. The meat was tough in some cases. Desserts were so so.
The dessert they served at Tea Time were actually much better than what you got at dinner.
Our room was really quite because it was located close to the front of the ship. No one walked by our room making noise. Quiet until the ship docked or stopped at 7 am. Then for the next hour or so it was noisy. It would have been nice to be warned about that.
In Catalina, we booked a golf cart on line. That was a good deal.
In Ensenada, if you just want to shop, just take a van that was parked outside the shopping place at the dock. For $3.00 round trip, they take you in and drop you off, bring you back when you have had enough. The only place we saw anything remotely different in terms of treasures to buy was at the casino across the street from the cruise ship terminal. It is about a two minute walk.
If you want quiet and a deck chair during the day at sea, find a chair and put your stuff on it before breakfast.
Overall it was a nice cruise, but it would be great it the cruise line warned you about some things, like the anchor going up and down in the morning.
Nice size for two people. Very Quiet at night. Noisy when the anchor goes up or down.
Rent Golf carts. There is a new zip line on Catalina that looked like great fun.
