All in all we were completely satisfied with our cruise on the Adventure if the Seas. Despite the ship being 10 years old she is in perfect condition and wouldn't hesitate to sail on her again! The ship is so big that a week isn't long enough to do and see everything. We would have liked to have seen a show but we just didn't have time. the ices show was amazing though - just a good if not even better than a West End show. The entertainment all overall was superb and despite most passengers being Spanish the staff did there upmost best for everything to be done in both English and Spanish.

Before going we decided what excursions we would like to do. Being our first cruise and well into our 60's we thought it easier this way. We ended up cancelling the last excursion because we really felt that they were way too expensive for what we got. On the first excursion in rome the guide was excellent, however on the second in Florence the guide had absolutely no idea what anything was and had to keep asking the coach driver! Next time we'll do it ourselves.

Our favourite port was Valencia. After reading other reviews on this page claiming that Valencia is just a cargo port they couldn't be more wrong. It's true that the ship docks a fair way from the tourist port (due to her sheer size) but if you make an effort to get off the ship there are buses which take you into the city or to the wonderful beach area just a five minute bus ride away. The city is a mix of the old and the new. It has the most spectacular modern architecture we have ever seen at the City of Arts and Science. The historic part of the city is extremely charming and despite being a Sunday there was lots going on. It's certainly a city where I would like to spend a few more days wondering thought the cobbled streets and sampling paella. The beach was lovely, lined with great paella restaurants- something which can't be missed.
